Job summary

Roquette Laisa España SA is seeking a Trainee Operator to join the Manufacturing team at the Gokak unit in India. The role involves operating and monitoring starch production equipment, following SOPs and safety rules to ensure consistent quality and efficient output.

The candidate should have a Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Instrumentation / Food Technology or related qualification, with 0–3 years in starch/food/chemical industries. Freshers may be considered.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Instrumentation / Food Technology (preferred for starch/food plants).
• 10+2 with relevant industrial experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment involved in starch manufacturing such as milling, slurry preparation, separation, washing, drying and packing systems.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, pH, moisture).
• Start-up, shutdown and changeover of equipment as per SOPs.
• Ensure correct raw material feeding and handling.
• Record production data, batch details and deviations accurately.
• Follow GMP and quality standards to meet product specifications.
• Identify process abnormalities and report to shift supervisor.
• Support sampling and basic quality checks as instructed.
• Minimize process losses and wastage.
• Follow safety procedures, PPE usage and plant safety rules.
• Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks and audits.
• Handle chemicals and process materials safely.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and equipment cleaning.
• Report equipment malfunctions or abnormalities promptly.
• Coordinate with maintenance team during breakdowns.
• Maintain production logs, checklists and shift handover records.
• Comply with ISO, FSSC 22000, HACCP, or other applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

• Operate production equipment involved in starch manufacturing such as:
