Job summary

Trainee - Nursing Services is responsible for supporting nursing teams while receiving practical training in basic patient care, clinical support, documentation, infection prevention, and hospital nursing procedures. The trainee works under appropriate supervision and assists with routine nursing activities, patient comfort, equipment readiness, and departmental coordination while developing practical knowledge of safe and professional nursing service delivery.

• Assist nursing staff with routine patient care activities under supervision.
• Support basic patient preparation and comfort measures.
• Assist with monitoring and recording vital signs as trained and authorized.
• Help with patient hygiene, mobility, positioning, and other basic care needs.
• Support preparation of patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist nursing staff with medication and treatment-related activities under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas.
• Assist in maintaining nursing supplies and equipment.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge-related activities.
• Help maintain basic nursing records and documentation as instructed.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to supervising nursing staff.
• Assist during routine clinical procedures as trained and authorized.
• Follow infection prevention, hand hygiene, and patient safety practices.
• Follow proper biomedical waste segregation procedures.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and basic emergency support under supervision.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare departments as instructed.
• Participate in nursing orientation, training, drills, and competency programs.
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or other abnormalities promptly.
• Follow hospital nursing SOPs and instructions from senior nursing personnel.
