Job summary

Exide Industries in Pune seeks a skilled professional to commission and maintain plastic injection moulds and ensure timely supply of moulded parts as per plant schedule. The role spans tooling and material fulfilment with KPIs on uptime, supplier readiness and cost efficiency.

The candidate should excel in plastic tool functioning, daily material ordering, on-time delivery, and BOM item procurement, with preference for auto or white goods manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Expert in plastic tool functioning and trouble shooting resolution.
• Experience in supply chain within manufacturing with daily material ordering and on-time delivery.
• Procurement of Regular Production / BOM items on daily basis.
• Experience in industries such as Automobiles or White Goods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commission new plastic injection moulds.
• Optimize molding parameters (tonnage, cycle time; net and shot weight) and contribute to costing.
• Monitor mould preventive maintenance and restoration.
• Guide suppliers to resolve daily production and quality issues.
• Ensure uptime of all moulds required for daily production.
• Ensure supplier readiness for infra needed for new model implementation.
• Plan and allocate parts per monthly plant schedules.
• Collect RM requirements from moulders and ensure adequacy at supplier end.
• Ensure timely supply of parts as per production plan.
• Monitor share of business vs delivery performance.
• Conduct frequent vendor visits to improve delivery and quality.
• Hold fortnightly meetings with critical vendors to resolve issues.
• Develop and monitor safety stock mechanism at vendor end.
• Monitor vendor capacity and ensure 100% on-time capacity.
• Identify and implement new avenues of cost savings.
• Prepare for statutory and internal audits related to Purchase.

Role & responsibilities

This profile is required to commission and maintain the plastic injection moulds at moulder end and to ensure the supply of moulded parts as per the Exide plant schedule. Role is bi-furcated in Tooling & Material fulfilment front with following KPIs -

On Tooling Front

a) New plastic injection moulds commissioning

b) Molding parameters optimization (m/c tonnage, cycle time, net wt. & shot wt.) and input for competitive costing

c) Mould preventive maintenance monitoring & mould restoration

d) Guiding the suppliers on resolution of day to day production & quality issues

e) Ensuring uptime of all moulds required for daily production

f) Ensuring supplier readiness on infra. required for new model implementation

On Material Fulfilment Front

a) Planning & allocation of parts as per monthly plant schedules

b) Collecting the RM requirements from moulders and sending to HO Commercial and ensuring RM adequacy at moulder end all the times

c) Ensuring timely supply of parts as per production plan on daily basis

d) Close monitoring of Share of business v/s delivery performance

e) Conducting frequent vendor visits to focus on Delivery & Quality improvement

f) To conduct fortnightly meetings with critical vendors at plant and resolve issues

g) To develop & monitor the safety stock (RM & BOP) mechanism at vendor end

h) Monitoring of vendor capacity and ensuring 100% on time capacity

i) Constantly explore & implement new avenues of cost savings

j) Preparation for statutory & internal audits w.r.t Purchase function

Preferred candidate profile

• Should be expert in plastic tool functioning & trouble shooting resolution
• Should have worked in supply chain function of manufacturing industry involving daily material ordering, following up and ensuring on time delivery on daily basis
• Preferred industry experience Automobiles, White Goods etc.
• Should be well versed in handling multiple supplier supply scenario
• Should have good working experience in procurement of Regular Production / BOM items on daily basis.
