Job summary

Freudenberg Group is seeking an experienced Tool Design Engineer to design vulcanization molds and tooling for rubber‑to‑metal components. You will develop new tooling concepts and support cross‑functional teams in cost reviews, ensuring cost‑effective tool designs by leveraging modern processes and supplier capabilities.

The role requires collaboration with global stakeholders across Europe and the Americas, managing multiple priorities to meet challenging project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial or a Diploma with 3+ years in tool design.
• 3–5 years of tool design experience in rubber/plastic manufacturing.
• Proficiency in NX Unigraphics for tool design is mandatory.
• Knowledge of rubber injection molding processes and tooling requirements.
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM is preferred.
• Basic understanding of GD&T and MS Office proficiency.
• Strong communication and collaboration in cross‑functional, global teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design and development of vulcanization molds, tooling, and devices for rubber-to-metal components, including the creation of new tooling and production concepts. Supports process-capable part design through close collaboration with cross-functional teams and active participation in technical and cost review discussions, particularly for non-standard projects. Ensures cost-effective tool design by leveraging modern manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, and industry standards. Works effectively with global stakeholders across Europe and the Americas while managing dynamic priorities and challenging project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in tool design, preferably within the rubber or plastic manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in NX Unigraphics for tool design is mandatory.
• Knowledge of rubber injection molding processes and tooling requirements.
• Experience working with Teamcenter PLM system is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and global teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within challenging project timelines.
