Job summary

Aptiv Connection Systems India, Kochi, seeks a Tool Designer for press tools and stamping dies. You will design, model, and draw tooling components, coordinating with production and QA to ensure build quality and manufacturability.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tool design, strong CAD skills (NX/CATIA/Creo/SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and practical knowledge of sheet metal forming and GD&T. This on-site role offers growth in an established engineering group at Aptiv.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Post Diploma in Tool & Die Making or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Press Tool / Stamping Die Design.
• Hands-on experience with Progressive Dies, Compound Dies and Sheet Metal Stamping Tools.

Title: Tool Designer - Press Tools / Stamping Dies

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop press tools, progressive dies, and stamping dies.
• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with production, tool room, and quality teams during tool development.
• Support tool trials, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
• Develop cost-effective and manufacturable tooling solutions.

Qualification

• Diploma / Post Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Tool Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Press Tool / Stamping Die Design.
• Hands-on experience in designing Progressive Dies, Compound Dies, and Sheet Metal Stamping Tools.
• Proficiency in NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal forming processes, GD&T, and tooling manufacturing practices.
• Experience in Plastic Injection Mold Design.
