Job summary

Aptiv Connection Systems India, Kochi, is seeking an experienced Tool Designer to design press tools, progressive dies, and stamping dies. You will create 3D models and manufacturing drawings, coordinating with production and quality teams to drive efficient tool development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in tool design, proficiency in CAD (NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and a strong grasp of GD&T and sheet metal forming processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Press Tool / Stamping Die Design.

Title: Tool Designer - Press Tools / Stamping Dies

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop press tools, progressive dies, and stamping dies.
• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with production, tool room, and quality teams during tool development.
• Support tool trials, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
• Develop cost-effective and manufacturable tooling solutions.

Qualification

• Diploma / Post Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Tool Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Press Tool / Stamping Die Design.
• Hands-on experience in designing Progressive Dies, Compound Dies, and Sheet Metal Stamping Tools.
• Proficiency in NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal forming processes, GD&T, and tooling manufacturing practices.
• Experience in Plastic Injection Mold Design.
