Job summary

Cyient in Hyderabad is seeking a Tool Designer with 3-5 years of tool design experience and a mechanical engineering background. You will translate tooling requirements into concept designs, review blueprints, and prepare documentation to meet quality standards.

Independence, ability to adapt to customer business needs, and NX CAD proficiency are essential as you work on tooling improvements, process optimization, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in Tool design.
• Proficient in NX CAD software.
• Knowledge of aero-engine components and MRO shop floor processes.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up for assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with applying basic engineering concepts to design tooling to required specifications.
• Review blueprints, engineering release and operations to determine design requirements.
• Prepare simple cost estimates for tooling and obtain competitive prices from vendors.
• Collaborate with plant and engineering staff to identify tool-related problems.
• Typically requires a technical discipline degree or equivalent experience in Tool Design.

Job Description: Tool Designer

• Should be able to understand Repair tooling requirements and prepare tooling concept designs, do follow-ups with various departments and be able to get customer reviews for the tooling concept designs
• Should identify and analyze the gaps at engine/module disassembly and assembly processes to improve speed and productivity
• Should work on to include new procedures, re-sequencing, alternate methods, tool redesign in NX CAD software or modification etc.
• Should author paperwork, develop technical drawings and specifications
• Should be able to work independently and responsible for own work and quality of deliverable with no supervision
• Candidate should be agile and quickly adopt to customer business needs

Job Requirements & Qualification:

• Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3-5 years of experience in Tool design
• Candiate should be proficient in NX CAD software
• Should have knowledge of Aero-engine components and MRO shop floor experience
• Candiate should have ability to understand technical data from OEM Engine Manuals and should be familiar with engine manual disassembly and assembly procedures
• Excellent knowledge & application of GD&T as well as Tolerance stack-up for sub-assemblies & assemblies
• Should have strong knowledge on quality assurance Repair process planning and assembly- disassembly procedures
