Job summary

Petrus Technologies in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, invites experienced engineers to join as Tooling and Fixture Designer for aerospace components. You will design tooling, jigs, and fixtures, model and detail fixtures using SolidWorks, and ensure designs meet manufacturability requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement AS9100 standards, and help maintain quality and delivery deadlines while advancing tooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Min 1+ years of tooling/jigs and fixture design experience (SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of CNC machines and their capabilities; GD&T proficiency.
• CATIA V5 proficiency preferred; AS9100 Rev D knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop tooling, jigs, and fixtures for aerospace parts and assemblies.
• Design, model and detail fixtures per the manufacturing plan using SolidWorks.
• Release designs and ensure manufacturability; revise dimensions, materials, or tolerances.
• Implement AS9100 standards in the design process.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and delivery deadlines.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• 1) Design & develop tooling, Jigs, and fixtures, for Aerospace parts and Assembly products.
• 2) Jigs & Fixture Design, Modelling and detailing of fixtures as per the Manufacturing plan, subassemblies and components using SoldWorks.
• 3) Design release and follow-up on manufacturability, assembly to alter or revise dimensions, materials, or tolerance limits as per the needs.
• 4) Implementation of AS1900 standards and discipline in the design processes.
• 5) Review and support with CFT teams for design realization. Ensure quality and delivery deadlines with high quality.

Must Have Competencies:

• 1) Min 1+ years of work experience in Tooling/Jigs and Fixture design using Experience on SolidWorks.
• 2) Knowledge of CNC machines & their capabilities.
• 3) Selection of CNC machines, work holding design, processes. GD&T proficiency.

Preferred Competencies:

• 1) Proficient in CATIA V5.
• 2) Adhering to Quality Manual and AS9100 Rev D requirements.
• 3) Added advantage on Composite tooling design experience
