Job summary

Infosys is seeking an experienced aerospace tooling engineer to design composite tool structures and associated jigs/fixtures. You will employ CATIA V5 to develop 2D drawings and 3D MBD while ensuring tolerances, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. Experience with Bond Jigs and VHF is highly valued.

Strong understanding of GD&T, Relational/Parametric Modelling, and engineering drawings is required. Knowledge of propulsion nacelle structures would be an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace tool design and composite structures.
• Expertise in creating manufacturing drawings (detail, assembly, installation).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Proficiency in Relational & Parametric Modelling within CATIA V5.

Responsibilities

• Design aerospace tooling, jigs and fixtures for composite parts.
• Develop Bond Jigs and Vacuum Holding Fixtures (VHF).
• Create 2D drawings and 3D MBD per ASME standards.
• Coordinate with team members and ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
• Work on propulsion system and nacelle structures design is a plus.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Areas of expertise include aerospace composite tool design. Composite structures design.
• Must have experience with design of composite parts jigs and fixtures.
• Experience in designing Bond jigs and vacuum holing fixtures (VHF) is desired.
• Must have expertise in Catia V5 (Workbench Part Design, Assembly Design, Sheetmetal, Generative Shape Design (GSD), 3D Functional Tolerancing and Annotations (FTA))
• Must have experience on Relational and Parametric Modelling.
• Must have good knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) and understanding of Engineering drawings in both 2D/Model Based Definition (MBD)
• Creating manufacturing (detail, assembly, installation) 2D Drawings/3D MBD as per ASME Standard
• Design of components considering Tolerance stack up, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
• Must be able to coordinate and communicate with the team members
• Experience in propulsion systems and structures design (nacelle structures design) and Catia Composite Part Design (CPD) workbench will be added advantage.
