Job summary

Motherson Technology Services Limited is seeking a Design Engineer with extensive CATIA V5 experience, preferably in the Aerospace / Aircraft domain. The role focuses on designing aerospace components, 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings, while applying GD&T and ensuring manufacturability and assembly readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design aerospace components and mechanical parts using CATIA V5
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, 2D drawings, and manufacturing drawings
• Develop and modify designs based on engineering and manufacturing requirements
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and drawing standards
• Design and develop sheet metal and other mechanical components as required
• Ensure designs meet accuracy, functionality, manufacturability and assembly
• Work with manufacturing, production, quality and inspection teams for validation
• Support prototype development and design changes, BOMs and technical documentation

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Design Engineerwith 36 years of experiencein CATIA-based mechanical design, preferably with experience in the Aerospace / Aircraft / Aerospace Manufacturing domain.The candidate should have strong hands‑on experience in CATIA V5, 2D/3D modeling, engineering drawings, GD&T, sheet metal and aerospace component design.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop aerospace components and mechanical partsusing CATIA V5.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, 2D drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
Develop and modify designs based on engineering and manufacturing requirements.
Apply GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and engineering drawing standards.
Design and develop sheet metal and other mechanical componentsas required.
Ensure designs meet requirements for accuracy, functionality, manufacturability, and assembly.
Work closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and inspection teamsfor design validation and implementation.
Support prototype development, design modifications, fabrication, assembly, and try‑out activities.
Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Support design changes, engineering change requests, and revision control.
Perform design optimization and DFM/DFA activitiesto improve manufacturability.
Troubleshoot design and manufacturing-related issues and implement suitable design improvements.Mandatory SkillsStrong hands‑on experience in CATIA V5.
Experience in Aerospace / Aircraft / Aerospace Manufacturingdomain.
Strong experience in 3D modeling, assembly design, and 2D detailing.
Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of Tolerance Stack‑up.
Experience in sheet metal / mechanical component designis preferred.
Good understanding of DFM/DFA and manufacturability.
Knowledge of machining, fabrication, drilling, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to understand component/assembly requirements and develop suitable design solutions.
Good communication and coordination skills with manufacturing andcross-functional teams.
