Job summary

Mahindra Aerostructures in Bengaluru seeks a senior expert in aerospace fixture design and machining process engineering. You will lead fixture development, define strategies, and guide cross-functional teams to ensure first-time-right solutions for complex components.

With 15–18 years of experience, you will mentor the tooling group, drive stage model creation, NC/Cutter selection, GD&T studies, and ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery for high-precision aerospace projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Tool Engineering.
• 15-18 years of experience in Aerospace Machining Fixture Design and Machining Process Engineering.
• Proven technical leadership in aerospace tooling programs.
• Strong customer-facing experience and program management exposure.

Responsibilities

• Define machining fixture and process strategy through CFT reviews.
• Lead fixture development from concept to customer buy-off.
• Guide engineers on aerospace machining fixtures, vacuum fixtures, modular fixtures, and complex contour part fixturing.
• Develop innovative clamping solutions for thin-wall, low floor thickness, forging, casting, and complex structural components.
• Drive stage model creation, setup sequencing, NC machine selection, and machining feasibility studies.
• Support cutter selection, tooling optimization, and process capability requirements.
• Lead sheet metal skin milling, mechanical milling, and trimming fixture development for 5-axis machining applications.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and dimensional control studies.
• Ensure fixture rigidity, dimensional stability, manufacturability, and ergonomics.
• Plan resources, track project status, and forecast program risks.
• Coordinate with customers, NC programming, manufacturing, quality, metrology, and tool manufacturing teams.
• Mentor and develop the tooling team.
