Job summary

Unitech Plasto Components in Chennai is seeking an experienced mold development engineer to design moulds and fixtures for automotive plastic parts, select steels, and optimize gating, cooling, and slider/lifter mechanisms.

You will conduct tool cost estimation, participate in DFM/DFA reviews, mold trials (T0-T2), troubleshoot defects, and drive molding process optimization to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

5-10 yrs experience in mold development and tool room coordination (auto plastics preferred).
Mold trials and modifications.
Tool cost estimation.

Responsibilities

Design moulds and fixtures for automotive plastic parts—steel selection, slider/lifter, gating and cooling.
Tool cost estimation and customer change proposals.
DFM/DFA reviews, mold trials (T0-T2) and defect troubleshooting.
Optimize molding process.
