Job summary

UNO MINDA in Maharashtra, Chakan, is seeking an experienced tooling design engineer to develop plastic injection mould tooling using UG NX. You will design, modify, and validate moulds, and coordinate with tool rooms, production, and suppliers to meet project timelines.

You will prepare 3D models and 2D drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documents, implement ECN/ECR, and drive cost optimization through design improvements. Strong GD&T knowledge and experience in tool trials are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in UG NX and plastic injection mould design required.
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of tooling manufacturing processes (CNC, EDM, Wire Cut, Grinding, Assembly).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling using UG NX.

Role & responsibilities

• Tool design and development using UG NX software.
• Design and modification of plastic injection moulds and tooling.
• Feasibility study and DFM review for new products.
• Preparation of 3D models, 2D drawings, BOM, and manufacturing documents.
• Coordination with tool room, production, quality, and suppliers for tool development.
• Tool trials, validation, and troubleshooting during development stage.
• Analysis and implementation of engineering changes (ECN/ECR).
• Monitoring tool manufacturing activities and ensuring project timelines are achieved.
• Root cause analysis of tooling issues and implementation of corrective actions.
• Cost optimization and productivity improvement through design modifications.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in UG NX (Unigraphics NX CAD).
• Strong knowledge of Plastic Injection Mould Design.
• Understanding of tooling manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, EDM, Wire Cut, Grinding, and Assembly.
• Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and tolerance stack-up.
• Experience in tool trial, validation, and process improvement.
• Good problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Thick lens , 2k and 3k mould .
