Job summary

Polymed is seeking a skilled Tool Room and Mould Design Lead to oversee mold development and maintenance in injection plastic moulding. You will head tool room operations, guide design and manufacturing of moulds, and manage a team handling multi-cavity, hot runner, stack and unscrewing moulds.

You will develop concepts for feeding, cooling, sliders, ejectors and parting mechanisms, create 3D mould models with VISI/UG-NX, and coordinate trials, troubleshooting and finalization with

Responsibilities

• Lead overall Tool Room and Mould Design activities.
• Design, develop, manufacture and maintain plastic injection moulds.
• Handle complex moulds including multi-cavity, hot runner, stack and unscrewing moulds.
• Develop mould concepts covering feeding, cooling, slider, ejector and parting mechanisms.
• Prepare 3D product and mould models using VISI / UG-NX / other CAD-CAM software
• Coordinate mould trials, troubleshooting, corrections and finalization.
• Manage mould maintenance, spare planning and mould life improvement.
• Support new product development and prototyping from concept to production.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D and Marketing for product/tooling requirements.
• Manage Tool Room manpower, machines, materials, cutting tools and external vendors.
• Plan and monitor CNC machining, tool manufacturing and repair activities.
• Analyze inspection reports and implement corrective actions on the shop floor.
• Drive implementation of new tooling technologies, cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop a team of tool designers, programmers, engineers and technicians
