Job summary

Agile Technology Solutions - Your Technology Partner is seeking an experienced Tooling / Component Development professional in Pune to lead end-to-end tooling development for dies, molds, jigs and fixtures. You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Suppliers to ensure tooling feasibility and optimization, while reviewing 2D/3D tool drawings and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires strong knowledge of tool design, DFM, and supplier coordination, with hands-on CAD

Qualifications

  • Experience in tooling development for dies, molds, jigs and fixtures.
  • Strong knowledge of tool design and tooling manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on with CAD tools such as CATIA, Creo, NX, SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in tool trials, sampling, validation, troubleshooting and tool optimization.
  • Experience working with tooling suppliers for development, modifications and maintenance.
  • Familiar with APQP, PPAP and quality tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end tooling development for new components including dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Define tooling requirements and specifications based on product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams for tool feasibility and optimization.
  • Review and approve 2D/3D tool design drawings.
  • Ensure DFM and tooling feasibility during product development.
  • Manage tool trials, sampling (T0, T1, T2, etc.) and validation activities.
  • Monitor and improve tool performance, cycle time, and tool life.
  • Conduct RCA for tooling-related defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for tool manufacturing, modifications, trials, and maintenance.
  • Support APQP, PPAP documentation and customer approvals.
  • Drive cost optimization, localization, tooling improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Tooling / Component Development professional with strong expertise in tool design, tooling development, DFM, tool trials, validation, supplier coordination, and automotive component development.

  • Lead end-to-end tooling development for new components including dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Define tooling requirements and specifications based on product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams for tool feasibility and optimization.
  • Review and approve 2D/3D tool design drawings.
  • Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and tooling feasibility during product development.
  • Manage tool trials, sampling (T0, T1, T2, etc.) and validation activities.
  • Monitor and improve tool performance, cycle time, and tool life.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for tooling-related defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure tooling meets required quality standards, safety norms, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for tool manufacturing, modifications, trials, and maintenance.
  • Support APQP, PPAP documentation and customer approvals.
  • Drive cost optimization, localization, tooling improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Injection Molds – Plastic Components
  • Press Tools – Sheet Metal Stamping / Dies
  • Casting Dies – HPDC / LPDC
  • Jigs & Fixtures – Assembly & Inspection
Preferred Technical Experience
  • Strong knowledge of tool design and tooling manufacturing processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, Creo, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal stamping, casting and/or machining processes.
  • Experience in tool trials, sampling, validation, troubleshooting, and tool optimization.Knowledge of APQP, PPAP and quality tools.
  • Experience working with tooling suppliers for development, modifications, and maintenance.
