Job summary

ABB Smart Power in India seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for LV switchgear testing and QA. You will conduct tests, ensure compliance with IEC 61439, and support factory and field activities across Mumbai and Hyderabad. Travel to site locations will be required; strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics is required. The role focuses on delivering compliant products, software, and services to customers with integrity and cost

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in LV switchgear testing and QA.
• Strong hands-on IEC 61439 testing experience (Functional, HV, Megger, CT/PT, contact resistance, FAT).
• Willingness to travel to site locations (Mumbai / Hyderabad) for extended durations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct test protocols to ensure products meet requirements in manufacturing and final inspection.
• Support supplier, production, testing and engineering quality activities.
• Record and evaluate data per ABB standards and applicable norms.
• Promote quality training and maintain integrity in all actions.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist local unit in developing the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in the development and implementation of standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power division at Mumbai, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Conducting test protocols, as assigned, to ensure products, systems, or software meet specified requirements and customer expectations in incoming, manufacturing, factory test labs, or final inspection quality, including internal testing routine and Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T.) as applicable.
• Supporting quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing and validation, and engineering, as applicable in the local organization.
• Executing and assisting specific quality-related training, promoting a passion for quality and integrity in all actions, with a focus on result orientation.
• Collecting, recording, and evaluating data to be interpreted according to the internal ABB specifications, customer norms, and applicable national and/or global standards while maintaining a high level of integrity.

Qualifications For The Role

• BE / B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

• Strong hands‑on experience in IEC 61439 testing (Functional, HV, Megger, CT/PT, contact resistance, FAT).
• Exposure to customer handling and site activities.
