Job summary

ABB is seeking a Quality professional in Nashik, India to support supplier and manufacturing quality in the LV switchgear domain. You will assist in developing capabilities to ensure compliant products and services, participate in standards development, and release quality products to customers.

The role focuses on testing protocols, data analysis, audits, and training to maintain high quality in the local ABB Electrification Smart Power unit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6–8 years of experience in Supplier Quality / Manufacturing Quality, preferably in LV switchgear domain.
  • Strong knowledge of LV switchgear products (ACB, MCB, MCCB).
  • Hands-on experience with quality tools: GRR, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, 8D.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques for electrical products.
  • Experience in handling supplier audits and quality compliance activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct test protocols to ensure products, systems, or software meet requirements and customer expectations in various labs and testing environments.
  • Support quality control needs for supplier, production, testing, validation, and engineering activities in the local organization.
  • Execute and assist quality-related training, promoting a culture of quality and integrity.
  • Collect, record, and evaluate data per ABB specifications, customer norms, and applicable standards while maintaining integrity.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist local unit in developing the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in the development and implementation of standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.

The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power division at Nashik, India.

  • Conducting test protocols, as assigned, to ensure products, systems, or software meet specified requirements and customer expectations in incoming, manufacturing, factory test labs, or final inspection quality, including internal testing routine and Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T.) as applicable.
  • Supporting quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing and validation, and engineering, as applicable in the local organization.
  • Executing and assisting specific quality-related training, promoting a passion for quality and integrity in all actions, with a focus on result orientation.
  • Collecting, recording, and evaluating data to be interpreted according to the internal ABB specifications, customer norms, and applicable national and/or global standards while maintaining a high level of integrity.
