Job summary

ABB Nashik in India seeks a Quality Engineer to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, performing audits, and reporting KPIs. You will train local teams, maintain process documentation, and support quality management activities daily.

The role is fixed-term for 2 years, contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power. Travel to customer sites may be required to support commissioning and testing of LV switchgear systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with 2-6 years of relevant experience in LV switchgear testing, quality assurance, protection systems, and commissioning.
• Strong hands-on experience in IEC 61439 testing and knowledge of LV products, including ACBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, CTs, PTs, transformers, and LV switchgear systems.
• Practical experience in routine, FAT, and commissioning tests, including Functional Testing, HV Test, Insulation Resistance (Megger) Test, CRM, Earth Continuity Test, and CT/PT testing.
• Hands-on experience in numerical relay configuration, settings, and testing, with an understanding of interlocking schemes, control logic, changeover functions, and communication testing.
• Exposure to customer handling, site activities, and commissioning support, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Willingness to travel to customer sites as per business requirements.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.
