Job summary

Lennox is seeking a Technician to support the VAVE team with product tear-downs, data collection, and detailed reporting. The role involves hands-on disassembly, measurement, and documentation to identify cost-reduction opportunities and product improvements.

Ideal candidates will have a Diploma/Bachelor's in engineering and experience with BOM interpretation, CAD, and PLM systems. Strong data management and collaboration with design teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering.
  • Strong MS Office, data recording, and BOM interpretation.
  • Experience with VAVE, cost reduction, benchmarking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Tear-down products, assemblies and components; identify and classify parts for analysis.
  • Record component details: material, dimensions, process, and function.
  • Measure components using standard tools and document findings.
  • Prepare tear-down reports, data sheets, and comparison charts with cost opportunities.
  • Collaborate with VAVE and Design Engineers to support reviews with collected data.

Job Description

Job Summary: The Technician will support the VAVE team by performing product tear-down activities, collecting and documenting engineering data, preparing analysis reports, and maintaining technical records. The role requires hands‑on disassembly of products, accurate measurement and documentation of components, and collaboration with engineering teams to identify cost reduction and product improvement opportunities.

Tear Down Activities
  • Perform systematic tear-down and disassembly of products, assemblies, and components.
  • Identify, classify, and organize parts for further analysis.
  • Record component details including material, dimensions, manufacturing process, and part functions.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of teardown components and samples.
Data Collection & Analysis Support
  • Collect engineering data from tear-down activities, drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Measure components using standard measuring instruments.
  • Capture photographs and maintain detailed records of findings.
  • Create and maintain databases of product components, materials, and costs.
  • Support benchmarking and competitive product analysis activities.
Report Preparation
  • Prepare tear-down reports, data sheets, comparison charts, and presentation materials.
  • Document observations, findings, and recommendations in a structured format.
  • Generate reports highlighting component details, cost opportunities, and design differences.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with VAVE Engineers, Design Engineers.
  • Support engineering reviews and project discussions with collected data and documentation.
Quality & Safety
  • Follow laboratory/workshop safety procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of technical data.
Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related discipline.

Required Skills

MS Office proficiency, drawing/BOM interpretation, measurement tools knowledge, documentation and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in VAVE, cost reduction, benchmarking, reverse engineering, CAD and PLM systems.

Primary Objective

Support the VAVE team through product tear-down, detailed data collection, technical documentation, and report generation to enable cost optimization and product improvement.
