Job summary

Trane Technologies in Bengaluru seeks Associate Tech Lead to shape HVAC and refrigeration design for global markets. You will own design tasks, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive robust engineering outcomes.

Key responsibilities include leading sheet metal, plastics, and tubing design, performing DFMEA and DVPN&R, and delivering 100% QDC while ensuring manufacturability and compliance with ASME Y14.5M guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8-12 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Creo, Teamcenter and Wind-chill.
• Experience in sheet metal, tubing, plastics, assemblies and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support for HVAC and Refrigeration product development.
• Lead design ownership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
• Develop DFMEA and DVPN&R, maintain BOMs and engineering docs using Teamcenter/Wind-chill.
• Ensure 100% QDC and adherence to ASME Y14.5M drafting rules.

JD For Associate Tech Lead

Job Summary:

This position will provide design support for product development in the field of HVAC and Refrigeration products for Trane Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support Design Engineering projects independently. Take project ownership and collaborate with other design team members to deliver the project expectations.
• Strong focus on sheet metal part design, plastic part design, and tubing design. Prepare concept designs, and detailed drawings as required.
• Idea generation and Feasibility study on VAVE projects.
• Reverse engineering capability and support teardown activities
• Prepare/maintenance of Engineering documentation, bill of material and change notices through Teamcenter and windchill.
• Collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams and project partners.
• Provides design support for current production parts and products.
• Create and develop DFMEA and DVPN&R.
• Commit to deliver 100% QDC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8-12 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.

Key Competencies

• Hands on experience in Creo, Teamcenter and Wind-chill
• Work experience on NPD / VAVE / QnR / Sustenance projects.
• Hands on experience on sheet metal, tubing, plastics, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of sheet metal drafting rules and principals (ASME Y14.5M)
• Good knowledge and application of Tolerance stack up and analysis.
• Hands on experience in DFMEA and DVPN&R is preferred.
• Good knowledge on PLM activities.
• HVAC/Refrigeration domain experience is preferred.
• Excellent Oral and Written communication skills and knowledge on MS Office tools.
• Ability to manage Design/Drawing/Project level Reviews with global cross functional teams.
• Must be able to adjust changing demands, priorities, and objectives.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities of reported issues.
• Coach and develop team members.
• Project management skills.
