Job summary

Dover in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead Value Engineering and VAVE initiatives. The role calls for managing complex design projects from concept through validation, collaborating with global teams, and delivering cost-saving innovations for rack systems and sheet metal components.

You will drive DFMA/DFMEA/DVP&R activities, perform tolerance analyses, and guide prototype testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Lead VAVE projects worth $100K–$500K in rack systems and sheet metal parts with quality deliverables.
• Experience independently managing VAVE projects using DFSS/DMAIC methodologies.
• Create and review Charter, Project Plan and risk mitigation for VAVE projects with cross-functional reviews.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills (A3, fishbone, root-cause, 5-Why).

Responsibilities

• Manage the Value Engineering and Value Analysis projects from concept to completion, including scheduling and deliverables.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Product Management and Strategic Sourcing to implement VAVE/cost saving projects.
• Lead DFMA/DFMEA/DVP&R, tolerance stack-up, and design optimization activities; lead prototype testing and validation.
• Sheet metal design, Weldment Design, sheet metal fabrication process and variation analysis; exposure to welding frames and piping designs for refrigerated rack systems.
• Ensure product safety, quality and compliance with standards such as NSF, CE, ETL, UL and AHRI.

Job description

Position: Senior Design Engineer

Exp: 6 - 10 Years

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage the Value Engineering and Value analysis projects from concept to completion, including scheduling, deliverables. Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve the product market specification.
• Create and review project Charter, Project Plan and risk mitigation plans for VAVE Projects. Data analytics of existing products. Frequent reviews with cross functional teams. Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Product Management and Strategic Sourcing to implement VAVE/cost saving projects.
• Lead DFMA/DFMEA/DVP&R, tolerance stack-up, and design optimization activities. Lead prototype testing and validation of VAVE solutions. Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
• Sheet metal design, Weldment Design, Sheet metal fabrication process & Variation analysis. Exposure to Sheet metal fabrication, welded frame structural design and piping, pipe fitting design, compressor and controls of refrigerated rack systems 5: Project management and communications with US Clients.
• Exposure to product safety, quality and compliance with industry standards like NSF, CE, ETL, UL and AHRI

Must Have Skills:

• Hands on experience in leading VAVE Projects worth minimum $100K to $500K New Development and Redesign projects on Rack systems and sheet metal fabrication parts with quality deliverable.
• Should have experience in working on VAVE projects independently with DFSS/DMAIC methodology. Lead DFMA/DFMEA/DVP&R, tolerance stack-up, and design optimization activities. Develop multiple design concepts and perform technical trade-off analysis.
• Create and review project Charter, Project Plan and risk mitigation plans for VAVE Projects. Data analytics of existing products. Frequent reviews with cross functional teams. Leading the Project pipeline generation activities to create VAVE Projects for the year. Organize structured VAVE Workshops and brainstorming sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent project management skills and Ability to effectively problem-solve using problem solving tools and techniques (A3, fishbone, root cause, 5-Whys). Should have Excellent communication skills both Verbal and written communication.
