Job summary

NU Hospitals seeks a Technician to support the laboratory operations. The role involves receiving and processing samples, performing analytical tests on body fluids and cells, and ensuring specimen integrity for accurate reporting.

The technician will integrate data across clinical departments and communicate critical results to clinicians. The ideal candidate holds a BMLT or DMLT with 2–3 years of experience, demonstrates solid technical skills, and possesses good communication.

Qualifications

• BMLT or DMLT with 2–3 years of experience.
• Adequate technical knowledge and strong communication skills.
• Experience in sample collection and processing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and establish procedures for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens and other substances.
• Properly collect specimens and maintain their integrity for quality results.
• Perform analytical tests on body fluids, cells, and other substances.
• Integrate and relate data from clinical laboratory departments while addressing discrepancies.
• Establish and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments and identify sources for repair/calibration.
• Communicate critical results to clinicians and document in the register.

Responsibilities

• Develop and establish procedures for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens and other substances.
• Properly collect specimens and maintain their integrity for quality results.
• Perform analytical tests on body fluids, cells, and other substances.
• Integrate and relate data generated by the various clinical laboratory departments while making decisions regarding possible discrepancies.
• Establish and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments as well as identify appropriate sources for repair and calibration.
• Interaction with staff nurses, front office staffs and patients in case of doubt regarding samples or reports To communicate critical results to the clinicians and document in the register
