Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and responsible Lab Technician to perform sample collection, processing, routine laboratory investigations, documentation, and equipment handling while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, infection control, and laboratory quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other clinical samples from OPD/IPD patients as per laboratory protocols.
- Perform phlebotomy, proper patient identification, sample labeling, and transportation.
- Receive, process, centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare samples for testing.
- Perform routine investigations in Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology, and other assigned sections.
- Operate laboratory analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Perform daily quality-control checks and report abnormal/critical values to the concerned senior/pathologist.
- Maintain accurate laboratory registers, worksheets, reports, and computer/LIS entries.
- Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables, and other laboratory supplies.
- Follow infection-control, biosafety, PPE, sterilization, and biomedical-waste-management procedures.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and laboratory waste.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and other hospital departments for timely sample collection and reporting.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate courteous and professional behaviour.
- Participate in quality improvement, NABH-related documentation, audits, and laboratory safety activities.
- Perform shift duties, emergency sample processing, and other duties assigned by the Lab In-Charge.
Qualification
- DMLT / B.Sc. MLT / BMLT or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
- Candidates with relevant hospital/diagnostic laboratory experience will be preferred.
Experience
1-3 years of relevant experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory preferred.
Freshers with good practical training may also be considered.
