Job summary

Cyient is seeking a Technical Writer with 3-5 years of experience to create Technical Manuals for automotive/agriculture equipment, including OM, WSM, AI and ATL. The role requires STE proficiency, knowledge of automotive parts, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities include working with Engineering Systems to source material, updating ATLs, incorporating ECNs, reviewing drafts, and publishing manuals. A background in mechanical drawings and 3D models is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical writing for automotive domain.
• Familiarity with agricultural equipment and automobile parts.
• Experience with electrical schematics.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, 3D models, and orthographic projections.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Proficient in creating/modifying illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.
• Sound knowledge of automotive parts and applications.
• Quick learner and able to work independently.
• Good customer handling skills.

• Develop Operators Manual (OM), Workshop Manual (WSM), Assembly Instruction (AI) and ATL.
• Access Engineering Systems and gather material for content creation.
• Update ATLs if information is insufficient.
• Update the manuals based on ECNs.
• Review the drafts and publish them.
• Update ATL for latest translation requirements.
• Global Process support for other Tech Information teams.

Technical Writer with 3-5 yrs of experience in the creation of Technical Manuals such as Workshop Manuals, Operators Manuals, Service Bulletins, Assembly Instructions, Knowledge Objects, Schematics, and more for automotive/agriculture equipment.

Mandatory Skills: Technical Writing, Simplified Technical English(STE), Automotive Domain

• Develop Operators Manual (OM), Workshop Manual (WSM), Assembly Instruction (AI) and related Annotated Topic List (ATL).
• Access Engineering Systems and gather material for content creation.
• Update ATLs if information is insufficient.
• Update the manuals based on ECNs
• Review the drafts created and publish them
• Update ATL for latest known translation requirements.
• Global Process support for other Tech Information teams.

Educational Qualification:

• BE/BTech in Mechanical/Automobile Engg
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Technical Writing, preferably in Automotive Domain.
• Certification in Technical Writing would be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with agricultural euipments/automobile parts/components is helpful.
• Experience working with electrical schematics will be an added advantage.
• Should be able to understand Mechanical Drawings, 3D Models and Orthographic Projections.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create/modify illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.
• Should be well-versed with Windchill, Arbortext Editor, CreoIllustrate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
• Should have sound knowledge in automotive parts and their applications.
• Should be a quick learner and should be able to work independently with a minimum supervision.
• Should have good customer handling skills
