Job summary

ALTEN India is seeking a Technical Author with 1–3 years in automotive to develop and maintain illustration parts catalogues (IPC) and BOMs. You will identify spare parts and assembly levels, provide serviceability data, and track changes across catalogues while ensuring quality control.

Strong communication and documentation skills are essential, with added advantages for electromobility experience and multi-format data conversions.

Qualifications

• Technical documentation knowledge and strong communication skills.
• IPC - Illustration Parts Catalogue creation knowledge.
• Knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Identify spare parts, assembly levels and provide serviceability data for all spare parts; develop BOM and illustrations to update design changes in parts catalogues.
• Strong knowledge of creating and maintaining catalogues; quality control.
• Wiring harness, pneumatics, and powertrain concepts knowledge.
• Experience in electromobility vehicles is an added advantage.
• Tracking components and multi-format file conversions.
• Management of design/Engineering changes, CA parts and deviation activities.
• SPE in aftermarket technology (AMT) knowledge is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in BOM creation, ECN, DCN and spare parts.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain part catalogues with accurate illustrations.
• Coordinate BOM creation and update design changes in catalogues.
• Identify spare parts and assembly levels; provide serviceability data.
• Ensure quality control of documentation and IPC outputs.
• Assist with data conversions across multiple formats.

• Added on strong knowledge on Wiring Harness, Pneumatics supplies & Power train concepts
• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in Electromobility vehicles is an added advantage.
• Knowledge on Tracking the components and Multi formats of file conversions
• Management of Design/Engineering Change, Customer Adaptation (CA) parts and Deviation activities
• Added advantage of having knowledge on Spare part engineering (SPE) in aftermarket Technology(AMT)
• Nice to Have: Hands-on experience in BOM Creation, ECN, DCN and Spare parts
• Experience: 1–3 years in automotive as Technical Author.
