Job summary

Cyient is seeking a Technical Writer to develop Operators Manuals, Workshop Manuals, Assembly Instructions, and Annotated Topic Lists for automotive/agricultural equipment. You will gather content, update ATLs, and revise manuals with ECNs in a collaborative environment.

The role requires 4–6 years in technical writing, familiarity with mechanical drawings and 3D models, and proficiency in tools like Windchill, Arbortext Editor, Creo Illustrate, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical or Automobile Engg.
• 4–6 years of experience in Technical Writing, preferably automotive.
• Certification in Technical Writing is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop Operators Manual, Workshop Manual, Assembly Instructions and Annotated Topic List.
• Access materials from systems and update ATLs as needed.
• Update manuals based on ECNs and publish drafts.
• Provide global process support for other Tech Information teams.

Job description

• Develop Operators Manual (OM), Workshop Manual (WSM), Assembly Instruction (AI) and related Annotated Topic List (ATL).
• Access Engineering Systems and gather material for content creation.
• Update ATLs if information is insufficient.
• Update the manuals based on ECNs
• Review the drafts created and publish them
• Update ATL for latest known translation requirements.
• Global Process support for other Tech Information teams.

Educational Qualification:

• BE/BTech in Mechanical/Automobile Engg
• 4 to 6 years of experience in Technical Writing, preferably in Automotive Domain.
• Certification in Technical Writing would be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with agricultural equipment's/automobile parts/components is helpful.
• Experience working with electrical schematics will be an added advantage.
• Should be able to understand Mechanical Drawings, 3D Models and Orthographic Projections.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create/modify illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.
• Should be well-versed with Windchill, Arbortext Editor, Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
• Should have sound knowledge in automotive parts and their applications.
• Should be a quick learner and should be able to work independently with a minimum supervision.
• Should have good customer handling skills

Technical Writer with 4-6 yrs of experience in the creation of Technical Manuals, STE, DDLC, DITA and Workshop Manuals, Operators Manuals, Service Bulletins, Assembly Instructions, Knowledge Objects, Schematics, and more for automotive/agriculture equipment.
