Job summary

BuildxPartners is a global talent solutions firm focused on end-to-end recruitment and workforce solutions. This role is a technical sourcing position working with robotics and hardware engineering teams to translate engineering needs into reliable supplier and manufacturing solutions.

You will identify suppliers across India and beyond, negotiate favorable terms, and help drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and lead times. Bengaluru-based role with global exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in technical sourcing, component procurement, supplier development, or a similar engineering procurement function.
• Mandatory global sourcing experience, including exposure to suppliers outside India.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, EMS / electronics manufacturing, wiring harnesses, motors and motor drivers, PCBs and embedded electronics, sensors, controllers, and batteries.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Working knowledge of import/export processes and commercial terms.
• Strong supplier negotiation, technical evaluation, vendor qualification, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source electrical/electronic components such as sheet metal, CNC parts, fabricated structures, motors, drivers, PCBs, connectors, wiring harnesses, sensors, controllers, and batteries.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers across India, China, and other global sourcing markets.
• Develop and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) with multiple qualified suppliers for critical BOM components.
• Work with Engineering to review and standardize BOMs, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and component requirements before RFQs.
• Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments to validate manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, capacity, and scalability.
• Coordinate with EMS / OEM / ODM / Contract Manufacturers for assembly, testing, pilot builds, and manufacturing readiness.

Job Description

This is a technical sourcing role rather than a conventional procurement position . You will be responsible for translating engineering requirements into reliable supplier and manufacturing solutions, while balancing technical feasibility, quality, cost, lead time, and scalability .

The role offers an opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge robotics and hardware engineering teams and directly contribute to taking robotic systems from engineering builds to production at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Source electrical/electronic components , including sheet metal, CNC parts, fabricated structures, motors, drivers, PCBs, connectors, wiring harnesses, sensors, controllers, and batteries.
  
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers across India, China, and other global sourcing markets .
  
• Develop and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) with multiple qualified suppliers for critical BOM components.
  
• Work with Engineering to review and standardize BOMs, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and component requirements before RFQs.

• Drive BOM cost optimization, alternate sourcing, lead-time reduction, and supplier competitiveness through structured RFQs and negotiations.
  
• Track procurement, inventory, supplier performance, and supply-chain risks to ensure production continuity.
  
• Support supplier development and sourcing strategies for future robot generations and scale-up programs.
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Exposure to ERP, procurement, or supply-chain management systems .
  
• Experience in supplier development, cost-down initiatives, and alternate vendor development.
