Job summary

Pyramid It Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Software Delivery) to lead end-to-end software initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, QA, DevOps, and product. You will manage fixed-scope engagements, track milestones, and ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of IT experience, strong SDLC knowledge, and hands-on Agile/Waterfall experience, with excellent communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software development projects from initiation to deployment

• Identify risks and issues and drive mitigation plans to successful delivery
• Serve as primary contact for customers and stakeholders throughout the project

• Oversee multiple engagements while ensuring delivery commitments across projects

Job Description Project Manager (Software Delivery)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience in managing end-to-end software development projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong software development background and proven expertise in delivering fixed-scope software projects while managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully delivering projects within agreed timelines, scope, budget, and quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, business stakeholders, and US-based customers to ensure predictable and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software development projects from project initiation through deployment and post-production support.
• Manage fixed-scope projects, ensuring delivery within committed scope, timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
• Prepare project plans, define milestones, manage dependencies, and track overall project progress.
• Proactively identify project risks, issues, and bottlenecks, and drive mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, business stakeholders, and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide concise project updates to leadership and customers.
• Manage client expectations, address escalations, and ensure high customer satisfaction.

Delivery & Team Management

• Coordinate with engineering, QA, DevOps, architects, business analysts, and product teams to drive execution.
• Manage multiple project engagements simultaneously while ensuring delivery commitments are met across all projects.
• Facilitate effective collaboration across geographically distributed teams.

Project Governance

• Monitor project health using delivery metrics, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Ensure adherence to project governance processes, documentation standards, and organizational best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and project outcomes.

Agile & SDLC

• Lead projects using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies based on project needs.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups where applicable.
• Ensure effective release planning, change management, and production readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

• Around 12 years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in software project management.
• Strong software development background, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams and technical decision-making.
• Proven experience managing fixed-scope software development projects from initiation to successful delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects and engagements simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and global stakeholders.
• Ability to overlap with US business hours, with availability until approximately 11:00 PM IST as required for customer meetings and project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• PMP, CSM, PSM, or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.
• Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar platforms.
• Experience managing offshore-onshore delivery models is an added advantage.
