Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager, Data Center to lead strategic programs with partners, customers and internal teams. You will initiate new programs, drive execution, and coordinate engineers to deliver data center services and infrastructure.

You will develop project documentation, process maps and status reports, using data to form recommendations and drive consensus across stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program or project management.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in data center construction, fit-out and services programs.
• Experience in managing data center infrastructure and fit out projects, and managing partners and stakeholders. Experience with vendor management.
• Experience in the use and customization of project management tools.
• Experience in the project management of complex projects. Comfort with operating in a high-paced, changing work environment with the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks, manage time efficiently and navigate ambiguity.
• Knowledge of green field civil construction, construction permit and statutory requirements, local industry standards.
• Working knowledge of finance as applied to project/program management.

You will manage various programs of work, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development, deployment and delivery of data center services and infrastructure. You will develop and prepare project documentation, process maps, presentations and tracking reports to provide detailed current status of each project. Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals and build consensus. You will analyse service performance and system performance data and translate into recommendations and actionable plans. You will provide strong quantitative analysis focus, requiring interpretation of technical and commercial information from structured and unstructured sources.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners, customers and key stakeholders to develop and articulate plans and long term strategy, initiate new programs and drive them through the execution phase.
• Manage various programs of work, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development, deployment and delivery of data center services and infrastructure. Develop and prepare project documentation, process maps, presentations and tracking reports to provide detailed current status of each project.
  
• Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals and build consensus.
• Analyze services performance and system performance data, translate into recommendations and actionable plans and provide strong quantitative analysis. Serve as an escalation point for our external partners and coordinate efforts with all internal stakeholders.
• Present team's analyses and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including executive management. Take accountability for driving the project deliverables.
