Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with leadership in product/platform development
• Strong hands-on Golang; Java/Node.js is a plus
• Experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems
• Deep understanding of system design, scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, caching and performance
• Proven ability to prepare and review HLDs/LLDs and architecture diagrams
• Relational and NoSQL DB design, data modeling, indexing, partitioning and query optimization
• Experience with API design (REST/GraphQL) and event-driven architectures (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevSecOps practices
• Comfort with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) and secure coding practices

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to drive the architecture, design, and development of scalable digital platforms. The role requires a strong backend engineering foundation, solution architecture expertise, stakeholder management capabilities, and a passion for building high-quality products.

The ideal candidate will own backend architecture and development while providing technical oversight for web and mobile applications. This is a highly technical leadership role where you will be expected to contribute to design decisions, code, and delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical architecture for scalable, secure, and resilient applications.
• Create and review High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and technical specifications.
• Design and develop backend services, APIs, and microservices using Golang and modern cloud-native technologies.
• Own database architecture, data modelling, schema design, performance optimization, and scalability strategies.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, Design, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical governance and architectural oversight for mobile and web application development.
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and ensure adherence to quality, security, and performance standards.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive production readiness, monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity and product experiences.

Required Technical Skills

• 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, with experience leading complex product or platform development initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience in Golang (preferred). Experience in Java, Node.js, or similar backend technologies is a plus.
• Expertise in designing and building microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, caching, and performance optimization.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams, and technical design documents.
• Strong expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Experience with API design, REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, OWASP principles, and secure coding practices.
