Job summary

Nemetschek Group is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to architect, develop, and scale its SaaS platform. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the technology strategy across backend and frontend layers.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on coding, and deep experience in AWS cloud-native development, relational and NoSQL databases, and modern web technologies like React/TypeScript and Golang/C#.

Qualifications

• Over 12 years in backend and front-end development, with hands-on coding and architecture experience.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with track record of mentoring engineers.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with cloud-native development on AWS and scalable systems.
• Proficient in modern web stacks (React/TypeScript) and backend languages (Golang, C#).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform), observability, and incident response.

Job description

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and scaling our SaaS platform. This role demands technical expertise, leadership, and a hands-on approach to ensure our systems are performant, secure, and resilient. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology stack.

In this role, you will work side by side with experts in Architecture, InfoSec, DevOps, and Product Management to understand requirements, construct delivery timelines, and task developers as needed to deliver the product vision. You will work with a team of highly capable and motivated engineers in the design, implementation, and operation of these solutions.

• Performs all task types (architecture, coding, research, and decision) on known and unknown technologies and projects, features, and platforms in a way that quickly, efficiently, and effectively arrives at a solution that correctly balances optimal results with timely results according to the needs of the project.
• Mentors and supervises the work of less senior developers working on their project to enable them to effectively arrive at solutions which correctly balance optimal results with timely results according to the needs of the project.
• Ramps up on new complex problems and code bases to the point of significant project contribution very fast.
• Expertly works with and helps any team they are on to more effectively work with Product Management and other stakeholders to refine loosely defined requirements into robust demonstrable applications.

Backend Development: Proficiency in Golang or C# (.NET Framework and/or .NET Core)

Web Development: Senior level experience building production React/Typescript applications, including testing, tooling and deployments

Cloud-Native Development (AWS): Experience architecting and building cloud-native solutions on the AWS platform

Relational Databases: Strong understanding of relational SQL databases, such as Postgres

NoSQL Databases: Experience with NoSQL databases, such as AWS DynamoDB.

CI/CD and Infrastructure Automation: Strong hands-on experience with fully automated CI/CD workflows, including infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform.

Observability & Monitoring: Strong experience implementing and maintaining observability across distributed systems, including structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, or equivalent.

AI-First Development: Experience using AI coding agents GitHub Copilot, or similar not just for code completion, but for accelerating design exploration, test generation, code review, and documentation.

Leadership: Experience leading a team in the development of multi-year projects, broken down into manageable milestones

Requirements Translation: Ability to work cross-functionally with business and technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years’ industry experience developing highly available backend services & web applications.
• 10+ years building applications running in the cloud via AWS.
• 5+ years leading a team of developers in progressively larger projects. Preference given to individuals with experience managing direct reports.
