Job summary

Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics India Pvt Ltd seeks a Technical Documentation Engineer to develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Defence, Aerospace & Industrial products across the product lifecycle.

The role involves preparing specifications, manuals, data sheets, test plans, and DFMEA-related docs in collaboration with Engineering, QA, Production and Project teams, ensuring accuracy, standards compliance, and controlled revision management.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in professional technical document formatting and publishing.
• Strong understanding of technical writing, editing, proofreading and document formatting with attention to detail.
• Understanding of Military, JSS, EMI EMC and IEC standards relevant to technical documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, tables and diagrams.
• Able to coordinate with R&D/QA, Production and Project teams to obtain technical inputs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Technical, Hardware and Software Specifications with Engineering teams.
• Format product data-sheets, leaflets, brochures and product documentation.
• Prepare revision and maintenance of Hardware/Software User Manuals and Installation/Operating Manuals.
• Prepare and maintain Test Plans/Procedures and Type Test Plans in coordination with R&D and QA.
• Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICD) and MTBF/MTTR reports for products.
• Coordinate DFMEA-related documentation with R&D/QA teams.
• Prepare and maintain Product Tree, Architecture, and system/sub-system breakdown docs (Fault Tree).
• Format and finalize technical documents using approved templates, styles, layouts, tables and graphics.
• Manage revision history and ensure consistency across controlled documents.
• Coordinate with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, QA, Production and Project teams to gather inputs.

Job description

We are seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer to develop, manage, and maintain technical documentation for Defence, Aerospace & Industrial products throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves preparing Technical Specifications, compliance reports, Operational & Maintenance manuals, MTTR & MTBF reports, Design quality & testing documentation prior to design release and customer deliverables in coordination with Engineering, QA, Production, and Project teams. The incumbent will ensure all documentation is technically accurate, compliant with applicable standards, professionally formatted and controlled through effective document revision management

Role & responsibilities.

• Preparation and maintenance of Technical, Hardware and Software Specifications in coordination with Engineering teams.


• Preparation and formatting of product data-sheets, technical leaflets, brochures and product-related documentation.


• Preparation revision and maintenance of Hardware and Software User Manuals Installation Manuals and Operating Manuals.


• Preparation and maintenance of Test Plans, Test Procedures and Type Test Plans/Procedures (TTP) in coordination with R&D and QA teams.


• Maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD), preparing MTBF(Reliability & MTTR(Maintainability) reports of existing & new products.


• Coordination with R&D/QA teams for DFMEA & preparation/maintenance of related documentation.


• Preparation and maintenance of Product Tree, Product Architecture and system/sub-system breakdown documentation- Fault Tree Analysis.


• Preparation formatting and finalization of technical documents including implementation of approved templates, styles, layouts, tables, figures and graphics.


• Document revision management, incorporating engineering/customer comments maintaining revision history and ensuring consistency across controlled documents.


• Coordinate with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, QA, Production and Project teams to collect technical inputs and ensure timely completion of documentation.

Preferred candidate profile.

• Hands-on experience in professional technical document formatting and publishing.


• Good understanding of technical writing, editing, proofreading and document formatting, with strong attention to detail.


• Understanding of applicable Military, JSS, EMI EMC and IEC standards relevant to products and technical documentation.


• Ability to understand and interpret technical information, including engineering drawings, schematics, tables and diagrams.


• Ability to communicate effectively with R&D hardware & software, QA, Production and Project teams to obtain and clarify technical information.


• D&A industry, Medical devices, Automotive electronics industry experience is preferred.


• Good planning, organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation assignments and meet deadlines.


• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools and documentation standards and take ownership of assigned documentation activities.
