Job summary

Envirocare Labs is seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor for the Microbiology section to oversee daily workflow, resource allocation, results review, and compliance with quality systems.

The role focuses on leading testing activities, maintaining equipment and consumables, ensuring SOPs and biosafety standards, and driving training and CAPA processes.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Food Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in a Food Testing, Environmental Testing, Pharmaceutical, or NABL-accredited Microbiology Laboratory.
• Strong leadership and capability to oversee daily operations, training, QA activities, and method development in a microbiology lab.

Responsibilities

• Plan, allocate, and monitor microbiological testing activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to defined TATs.
• Oversee technical review processes, ensuring reviews are performed by authorized personnel and reviewer competency is maintained within the section.
• Ensure availability, suitability, and proper management of laboratory equipment, media, cultures, reference strains, reagents, and consumables.
• Monitor compliance with SOPs, GLP, biosafety requirements, aseptic practices, and laboratory quality systems.
• Lead daily operations, track performance metrics, investigate deviations, OOS/OOT results, contamination events, and customer complaints, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage training, competency assessments, and performance evaluation of microbiology personnel, including new joiners.
• Oversee quality assurance activities, including IQC, PT/ILC participation, environmental monitoring, culture maintenance, and trend analysis.
• Lead method development, verification, validation, and transfer activities for microbiological testing.
• Approve routine laboratory requisitions and support the evaluation, qualification, and procurement of laboratory equipment, consumables, and vendors.
