Job summary

BMW TechWorks India Private Limited seeks a skilled automotive engineer to lead virtual vehicle development for Boot trim (Soft Trim) parts. You will coordinate with interface partners, ensure data integrity per BMW standards, and drive feature designs from concept through release with a focus on CATIA V5, Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Drafting and Digital Mockup.

You will also work on PRISMA publication/data management, integration of tolerances, and cross-functional review of Studio

Qualifications

• Experience with virtual vehicle development.
• Understanding of mechanical relations in headlamp and taillamp assemblies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods for Boot trim (Soft Trim) parts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development during post-production phase and release management.
• Coordinate with interface partners and maintain BMW-standard documentation.

Job description

• Leading Development during the phase of post-production, Change Management, Release management, target management, Cost reduction, Steering changes etc.

Experience in virtual vehicle development and understanding of mechanical relationships of Headlamp and Taillamp

• Knowledge of common manufacturing methods for Boot trim (Soft Trim) Parts.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate independently with interface partners
• Ability to manage and maintain data and documentation in accordance with BMW standards

Must have technical skills.

• Very good skills in CATIA V5, especially in Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Drafting, and Digital Mockup
• Good knowledge of the PRISMA database for publication and data management
• Experience with collision checks and integration of special characteristics, tolerances, and component identification in drawings.

Good Technical skills

• Familiarity with different manufacturing technologies Boot trim (Soft Trim).
• Understanding of fixation parts and assembly processes

Must have technical skill

• Very good skills in CATIA V5, especially in Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Drafting, and Digital Mockup
• Very good cross functional interaction
• Concept development of Boot trim (Soft Trim) Parts.
• Review of Studio surfaces and Supplier 3D CAD-Data.
• Creation of sections.
• Creation of technical specifications good knowledge of the PRISMA database for publication and data management.
• high knowledge about automotive industry processes, Boot trim (Soft Trim) development experience, Fluent German is a plus

Good to have Technical skills

• Technical lead for postproduction phase steering changes with respect to timing, cost, technical solution, plant alignment for Boot trim (Soft Trim) ,
• Advanced knowledge on plastic and PC material properties; Automotive experience.
