Job summary

Infraen in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, seeks a Team Leader (Water Supply) to lead project management, construction oversight, and contract administration for an 18-month water project. The role demands strong leadership, stakeholder coordination and robust reporting.

You will supervise PMC teams, review designs and specifications, and ensure QA/QC, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle. The incumbent will use MS Project or similar tools to plan, monitor, and control project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Postgraduate qualification in environmental/public health/structural engineering preferred.
• Minimum 15 years total experience in civil/water projects.
• At least 10 years in construction management of water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management, construction management and contract administration.
• Coordinate and manage the PMC team for timely outputs.
• Supervise contractor activities, ensure quality, progress and compliance.
• Review designs, drawings, specs and estimates for compliance.
• Establish QA/QC systems and monitor them.
• Coordinate with NTADCL, SIPCOT, TIDCO and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and develop reporting systems for performance.
• Analyze contract issues, variations and extensions; advise Client.
• Assist in resolving disputes and procurement activities.
• Oversee planning, scheduling and progress monitoring using MS Project.
• Conduct regular project review meetings and circulate minutes.
• Maintain project records, MIS and documentation.
• Ensure safety, environmental and social safeguard compliance.
• Assist with statutory approvals and government coordination.
• Review and certify progress/payment submissions from Contractors.
• Verify as-built drawings and support completion and final acceptance.
• Monitor defects during the DLP and ensure rectification.

Team Leader (Water Supply) - Tamil Nadu

Location: Tirupur, Tamil Nadu

Project Duration: 18 Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the overall project management, construction management and contract administration activities.
• Coordinate and manage the PMC team and ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
• Supervise and monitor the Contractor's construction activities, quality, progress and contractual compliance.
• Review project designs, drawings, technical specifications and estimates and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Establish and monitor project Quality Assurance / Quality Control systems.
• Coordinate with NTADCL, Contractors, SIPCOT, TIDCO, government departments and other stakeholders.
• Monitor physical and financial progress and establish project performance monitoring and reporting systems.
• Review contractual issues, variations, claims, extra items, new rates and extension-of-time requests and provide recommendations to the Client.
• Assist in resolving contractual disputes and construction-related issues.
• Support procurement, bid process management and contract award activities.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling and monitoring using MS Project or similar project management software.
• Conduct regular project review meetings and ensure preparation and circulation of minutes.
• Ensure proper maintenance of project records, MIS and documentation.
• Monitor compliance with safety, environmental and social safeguard requirements.
• Assist the Client with statutory approvals, permits and coordination with government agencies.
• Review and certify progress/payment-related submissions from Contractors.
• Verify and certify as-built drawings and support completion and final acceptance of works.
• Monitor defects during the Defects Liability Period and ensure rectification by the Contractor.
• Prepare and submit periodic progress, quality, financial and other reports required by the Client.

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering / Public Health Engineering / Structural Engineering is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management of water / wastewater projects.
• Experience in a similar Team Leader / Construction Manager / Project Manager capacity.
• Strong experience in construction supervision, contract administration and project management.
• Sound knowledge of contract conditions and contract management is preferred.
