Job summary

NTPC is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on a Water Treatment Packages project at the project site. You will oversee civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works, ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution while coordinating with EPC contractors and client representatives.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on site management to deliver successful mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and handover of water

Qualifications

• Education and broad technical foundation in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Experience in water treatment, EPC, industrial construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary site execution, coordination, HSE, and quality management.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site construction across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Ensure execution per drawings, specifications, schedules, codes, and HSE standards.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead and manage site construction activities for water treatment projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely, quality-compliant, and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site construction activities across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, schedules, applicable codes, and HSE requirements.
• Plan manpower, materials, equipment, site logistics, and construction resources.
• Monitor project progress, identify delays/risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, quality checks, and safety reviews.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Planning, Contracts, and Commissioning teams.
• Resolve technical and construction-related issues at site.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Prepare and submit regular site progress reports to management/client.
• Ensure compliance with NTPC safety standards, statutory requirements, and project quality standards.
• Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and final handover of water treatment packages.

Candidate Profile

• Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience: Relevant experience in water treatment, EPC, industrial construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary construction activities, site execution, project coordination, HSE, and quality management.
• Good leadership, communication, contractor-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work at project sites and manage site-based construction activities.

Preferred Experience

Experience with NTPC projects, water treatment plants/packages, EPC projects, and multidisciplinary industrial construction will be an advantage.
