Job summary

TD Power Systems Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the design of rotating machines and large industrial motors. You will lead a team to deliver complex projects on time, review drawings and models, and ensure adherence to industry standards.

You will collaborate across manufacturing, quality, testing and production to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability while mentoring engineers and driving cost-effective design improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering with strong fundamentals in design for rotating machines.
• Experience with design standards and manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Ability to mentor and lead a mechanical design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of rotating machines and large industrial motors.
• Lead and mentor the mechanical design team and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform and review engineering calculations for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Drive design optimization, standardization, cost reduction, and design improvements.
• Ensure designs meet IEC, NEMA, API, ISO and other standards.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Production, and cross-functional teams.
• Resolve design and manufacturing issues through root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving.
• Review and finalize 2D drawings, 3D models, GD&T, tolerance stack-up and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure product designs meet quality, reliability, manufacturability and performance standards.

• Experience in rotating machine mechanical design, components, and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
