We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Team Leader to lead the design of automated assembly, testing, inspection, and manufacturing equipment for automotive production. You’ll guide the team from concept through detailed design, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver safe, manufacturable, and reliable machines.
Lead concept and detailed machine design for automation and special-purpose machines.
Review 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Select and size actuators, pneumatic components, tooling, robots, and other mechanical components.
Perform cycle-time, design feasibility, and tolerance checks.
Lead design reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with manufacturing, controls, and project teams throughout delivery.
Ensure designs meet machine-safety, maintainability, and applicable standards requirements.
Support and guide mechanical design team members.
B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Typically 6-10+ years of experience in automation or special-purpose machine (SPM) design.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, or a similar 3D CAD tool.
Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, pneumatics, and fixture design.
Understanding of automotive assembly processes and machine safety.
Strong team leadership, communication, and customer-interaction skills.
