Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a Network Firewall Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to monitor and secure enterprise networks, using Meraki, Cisco SD-WAN and firewall technologies to maintain performance and security.

The role involves configuring routers and switches, managing firewall policies and VPNs, collaborating with vendors, and analyzing logs from Datadog, Splunk and ThousandEyes while keeping documentation up to date.

Qualifications

• Knowledge on routing and switching, Meraki, SD-WAN and firewall configurations.
• Experience with Azure networking and related security features.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools: Datadog, ThousandEyes and Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security using Meraki Dashboard, Cisco SD-WAN vManage, Firewall, ThousandEyes, Splunk and Datadog.
• Configure, deploy, and manage Cisco routers and switches in LAN/WAN environments for continual service and Azure networks.
• Configure and manage Cisco, Meraki devices, Firewall, SD-WAN devices and firmware upgrades during maintenance windows with minimal disruption.
• Firewall Administration - Configure, implement, and maintain firewall solutions (Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco). Create, review, and optimize firewall policies and access control rules.
• Management of Wireless controller and access point.
• Troubleshooting hardware related issues on Catalyst, Meraki and SD-WAN devices.
• Work closely with support teams, vendors (Cisco TAC, Meraki support), and service providers for escalations and troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve SD-WAN path failures, tunnel issues, or policy misconfigurations.
• Validate routing tables, ACLs, VPN configurations, QoS settings, and firewall policies.
• Managing and remediate Meraki device issues, such as AP connectivity problems, switch port errors, or security appliance alerts.
• Leverage Cisco IOS logs, Meraki event logs, SD-WAN dashboards, syslogs, and SNMP traps for troubleshooting.
• Validate routing tables, ACLs, VPN configurations, QoS settings, and firewall policies to ensure correct implementation.
• Update network documentation and incident logs with troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and lessons learned.
• Recommend upgrades or design changes to minimize common faults or simplify troubleshooting efforts.

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

• 1 Continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security using Meraki Dashboard, Cisco SD-WAN vManage, Firewall, Thousand eye tools, Splunk and Datadog.
• 2 Configure, deploy, and manage Cisco routers and switches in LAN/WAN environments for continual service and Azure networks
• 3 Configure and manage Cisco, Meraki devices, Firewall, SDWAN Devices and firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes during maintenance windows while ensuring minimal disruption.
• 4 Firewall Administration - Configure, implement, and maintain firewall solutions (Palo Alto, fortigate, Cisco). Create, review, and optimize firewall security policies and access control rules. Perform firewall upgrades, patching, and firmware management. Manage VPN configurations and secure remote access.
• 5 Management of Wireless controller and access point
• 6 Troubleshooting hardware related issue on Catalyst , Meraki and SDWAN devices
