Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a seasoned Network Operations Engineer to own end-to-end network operations, governance, and service delivery. You will lead escalation handling, ensure security and resilience, and drive improvements across LAN, WLAN, DDI, NAC, firewall, and WAN optimization domains.

You will coordinate with vendors and internal teams to maintain high availability, optimize performance, and enforce governance across the global enterprise network.

Qualifications

• Experience with monitoring, change governance, and root-cause analysis.
• Vendor and cross-team coordination for seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cisco/Fortinet firewall infra, NAT, VPN, IPS, URL filtering.
• Monitor WAN optimization with Silver Peak; track bandwidth and latency.
• Oversee OOB management, security incidents, and change governance.
• Coordinate with Cisco/Juniper/Aerohive and providers for incidents.

Role & responsibilities

Network Operations and Governance

• Own end-to-end network operations, governance, and service delivery.
• Act as the primary escalation point for network-related incidents, outages, and performance issues.
• Ensure network availability, performance, security, compliance, and operational resilience.
• Define and maintain network SOPs, runbooks, standards, configuration baselines, change templates, and governance controls.
• Lead network service reviews, capacity planning, risk reviews, technical assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

LAN Infrastructure Management

• Manage enterprise LAN infrastructure based on Cisco Catalyst and Juniper switches.
• Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, QoS, ACLs, port security, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
• Perform switch provisioning, software upgrades, patching, configuration backup, lifecycle management, and hardware refresh planning.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity, routing, switching, latency, and packet loss issues.

WLAN Administration

• Manage Cisco, Juniper, and Aerohive wireless infrastructure including WLCs and access points.
• Configure SSIDs, authentication policies, guest access, roaming policies, wireless security, and access control integration.
• Perform wireless capacity planning, RF optimization, channel planning, coverage validation, and performance troubleshooting.
• Monitor wireless availability, user experience, AP health, controller health, and service degradation.

DDI Services Administration

• Administer Sauron DDI services covering DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management.
• Maintain IP inventory, subnet allocation, DNS zones, DHCP scopes, reservations, and service records.
• Support IP planning for new sites, ODC expansion, network segmentation, and project onboarding.
• Ensure DNS and DHCP service availability, backup, resiliency, and operational documentation.

Network Access Control and Authentication

• Administer Aruba ClearPass policies, enforcement profiles, authentication flows, and endpoint profiling.
• Manage 802.1X authentication, RADIUS/TACACS+ integration, guest access, BYOD onboarding, and device compliance policies.
• Troubleshoot authentication failures, certificate issues, policy mismatches, endpoint posture, and access enforcement issues.

Firewall and Network Security Management

• Manage Cisco and Fortinet firewall infrastructure, security policies, NAT, VPN, IPS, URL filtering, and access controls.
• Review and implement firewall rule changes using approved change management processes.
• Perform firewall audits, rule recertification, compliance reviews, vulnerability remediation, and security incident support.
• Coordinate with security teams for threat response, segmentation, and policy hardening.

WAN Optimization and Acceleration

• Manage Silver Peak WAN Accelerator services for WAN optimization and application performance improvement.
• Monitor bandwidth utilization, WAN latency, throughput, packet loss, and application experience.
• Configure WAN optimization policies and troubleshoot WAN performance degradation.
• Coordinate with telecom providers, ISP teams, and WAN vendors for service restoration and optimization.

Out-of-Band Network Management

• Manage Cyclades and Raritan console servers and out-of-band access infrastructure.
• Provide secure remote administrative access to critical network devices during incidents and maintenance.
• Maintain OOB access standards, emergency access procedures, credentials governance, and DR readiness.

Monitoring, Reporting and Performance Management

• Monitor network health, interface utilization, device availability, traffic patterns, latency, packet loss, and service performance.
• Prepare operational dashboards, capacity reports, availability reports, incident trends, and service review inputs.
• Proactively identify and remediate recurring network issues through problem management and automation opportunities.

Service Management and Change Governance

• Lead network major incidents, bridge calls, escalations, service restoration, and stakeholder communication.
• Perform root cause analysis, permanent corrective actions, known error documentation, and service improvement planning.
• Review, approve, and implement network changes with implementation plans, validation steps, rollback plans, and CAB participation.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, Silver Peak, Aerohive, WAN providers, and enterprise support teams.
• Manage vendor escalations, support cases, operational follow-ups, and issue resolution.
• Work with infrastructure, EUC, security, cloud, application, facilities, and customer teams for seamless service delivery.
