upGrad in India is hiring Career Counsellors for its International Career Programs—Nursing & Hospitality. You will counsel and enroll candidates into job-oriented pathways spanning Albania, Korea, Malta, Germany and Japan, combining language training with vocational coaching and visa guidance.

The role is target-driven with end-to-end ownership of the admissions funnel, requires strong communication and CRM skills, and offers growth in a fast-paced EdTech environment.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in counselling + sales, preferably in overseas education or EdTech.
• Experience in Nursing/Hospitality overseas program counselling is preferred.
• Exposure to Korea (EPS/TOPIK), Malta, Gulf or European programs is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced Career Counsellors to join our International Career Programs – Nursing & Hospitality team.

Position: Career Counsellor

Department: Sales & Admissions | International Career Programs

About the Role

The Career Counsellor will be responsible for counselling and enrolling candidates into job-oriented International Career Pathway Programs in Albania, Korea, Malta, Germany & Japan.

These programs combine language training + vocational/skill training, preparing candidates for overseas career opportunities.

This is a target-driven, sales-oriented counselling role with end-to-end ownership of the admissions funnel.

• Counsel prospective candidates including 12th pass-outs, freshers, ITI/Diploma holders, Nursing graduates and Hospitality aspirants.
• Explain international career programs, including language training, vocational/skill training, visa process, job guarantee terms, timelines and costs.
• Manage the complete sales funnel from lead generation to admission, including cold calls, walk-ins, digital leads and referrals.
• Achieve monthly enrolment/revenue targets assigned by the Team Lead.
• Conduct 1-on-1 and group counselling sessions, seminars and webinars for candidates and parents.
• Follow up with leads through calls, WhatsApp and email while maintaining proper CRM records.
• Guide candidates through documentation, eligibility screening and pre-departure formalities in coordination with the Operations/Visa Team.
• Build strong relationships with candidates to generate referrals and repeat business.
• Stay updated on international job-market demand, visa policies, language requirements and competitor offerings.
• Coordinate with the Marketing Team for lead-generation campaigns, events and education fairs.
• 1–4 years of experience in counselling + sales, preferably in overseas education, immigration, recruitment, EdTech or overseas job-placement industries.
• Experience in Nursing/Hospitality overseas program counselling is preferred.
• Exposure to Korea (EPS/TOPIK), Malta, Gulf or European programs will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in a target-driven, incentive-linked environment.
• Basic understanding of visa processes and language certifications such as TOPIK, IELTS, OET, TELC, JLPT, etc. is a plus.
• Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Nursing/Hospitality background is an added advantage.
