Job summary

The Hosteller is hiring a Talent acquisition assistant manager (Kitchen & housekeeping roles) in India. You will drive end-to-end hiring for hostel operations, coordinating with managers and stakeholders, and closing candidates across chef, chef de partie, commis, server, utility, housekeeping supervisor and executive roles.

The role demands a minimum of 3 years in talent acquisition within hospitality or facilities, plus strong negotiation and communication skills to sell The Hosteller culture

Qualifications

• MBA/PGDM in HR or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years in talent acquisition, including hospitality or facility management roles.
• Strong assessment of spoken communication.
• Closer: comfortable negotiating, chasing decisions & holding a candidate through notice.
• Belief in the company's vision and culture, and the ability to sell it.

Responsibilities

• Own closure. Screening, coordinating, negotiating and closing, from a funnel the manager supplies.
• Run the mandatory telephonic screening for every front office role, including PMS/POS and a guest escalation example.
• Independently own multiple roles across hostels, prioritise by business urgency, ensure roles don’t age beyond its TAT.
• Maintain a ready-to-hire backup for every active role and keep 3–5 strong candidates in play for critical roles.
• Coordinate the panel: slots, reminders and same-day feedback; chase decisions proactively.
• Align hiring managers on JD clarity, candidate expectations and feedback timelines.
• Handle negotiations within band on pay, role clarity and location; escalate above-band when needed.
• Own the candidate relationship from first talk to joining reporting.
• Sell the vision; uphold culture and growth path to close candidates at competitive offers.
• Direct the executive on documentation, verification, paperwork and reporting; alert when funnel thins.

Role overview

Purely hiring, coordinating and closing: the manager supplies the funnel, the executive supports the paperwork and your role converts candidates into joiners. Roles to hire on: chef, assistant chef, commis chef, server, utility, housekeeping supervisor and executive.

• Coordinate the panel: slots, reminders and same-day feedback. Chase the decision rather than waiting for it.
• Align hiring managers on JD clarity, candidate expectations and feedback timelines, and push back constructively when a requirement is unclear or unrealistic
• Handle negotiation within band on pay, role clarity and location, and elevate anything above band before committing to a candidate
• Own the candidate relationship from first conversation to reporting, because the drop between offer and joining is charged to this seat
• Sell the vision. Absolute belief in the culture and the growth path is what closes a candidate holding a competing offer at a similar number.
• Direct the executive on documentation, verification, paperwork and reporting, and tell the manager the moment the funnel runs thin.
