Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Tableau Developer to create dynamic, insightful visual reports using Tableau. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, develop customized reports, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

The role involves building data models and visualizations to analyze trends, KPIs, and business performance, working with SQL, Excel, and cloud data sources across on-site locations in Pune or Gurgaon.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Tableau Developer or similar role.
• Strong SQL knowledge and data modeling skills.
• Experience with Tableau Desktop, Server/Online and Tableau Prep.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and design tailored solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality in all reports and dashboards.
• Conduct data analysis to uncover trends and patterns that drive business improvements.
• Work with large datasets, integrating multiple data sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, cloud-based data warehouses).
• Optimize Tableau workbooks for performance to ensure fast and effective dashboard loading.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes while supporting Tableau Prep workflows.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Tableau reports and dashboards, addressing issues and implementing updates.
• Stay updated on the latest features and best practices in Tableau and data visualization technologies.
• Train and assist end-users with Tableau functionality and promote best practices.
• Document Tableau reports, processes, and data models for future reference.

• Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases such as SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, or MySQL.


• Data Integration: Experience connecting Tableau to various data sources (e.g., cloud, flat files, APIs).


• ETL: Familiarity with ETL tools and processes for complex data transformation and preparation.


• Programming: Proficiency in SQL queries, stored procedures, and advanced Excel functions.


• Version Control: Experience managing Tableau workbooks using version control systems.
