Job summary

Astreya, a global IT managed services provider, seeks a Systems Engineer in Bengaluru to design, setup, and maintain enterprise IT networks and endpoints. You will handle macOS endpoint management, identity access with Okta, VPN connectivity, and collaboration tools, ensuring a secure and reliable digital workspace.

Collaborating with security teams and service desks, you’ll implement policies, respond to escalations, and contribute to runbooks and knowledge bases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college and 5–8 years’ related experience.
• Experience with computing networks, platforms, and software architectures.
• Strong judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solving problems.
• Ability to work under project deadlines and cost constraints.

Responsibilities

• Endpoint & Device Management: macOS enrollment, configuration profiles, patch management, and policy enforcement via MDM; troubleshoot macOS issues.
• Identity & Access Management: Administer Okta SSO/MFA, manage lifecycle, support AD accounts and access escalations.
• Network & Connectivity: Troubleshoot VPN via GlobalProtect and Zscaler; apply DNS/DHCP/VLANs/firewall basics; collaborate with network teams.
• Collaboration & Productivity Tools: Manage Microsoft 365 Suite and telepresence devices; support Zoom Rooms/Phone.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce endpoint security, patch compliance, audit readiness; assist with security incidents.
• Escalation Handling: Bridge Level 1 service desk with technology owners; document solutions and create runbooks.

What this Job Entails

The Systems Engineer's responsibilities include working with a team of IT specialists to design, set up and maintain a network of computers, including hardware, software, and system architecture. Scope: Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of their specialty Works on problems of a diverse scope Receives little instruction on day to day work, general instruction on new assignments

Your Roles and Responsibilities

Endpoint & Device Management :-

• MacOS endpoint management — enrollment, configuration profiles, patch management, and policy enforcement via MDM (JAMF or equivalent) Troubleshoot and resolve advanced macOS issues
• maintain endpoint compliance posture with the security team

Identity & Access Management :

• - Administer and troubleshoot Okta — SSO, MFA policies, application assignments, and lifecycle management Handle escalated access issues
• support and maintain Active Directory accounts, group policies, and Ous

Network & Connectivity :

• Troubleshoot VPN connectivity via GlobalProtect and Zscaler ZPA/ZIA
• apply networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall rules) to resolve connectivity issues Collaborate with network and security teams on escalated cases requiring deeper infrastructure context

Collaboration & Productivity Tools :-

• Serve as escalation point for Microsoft 365 — Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and licensing Manage and troubleshoot Zoom Rooms, Zoom Phone, and video conferencing hardware

Security & Compliance :

• Apply endpoint security principles — EDR tooling, patch compliance, and security policy enforcement Support security-related incidents
• follow and help maintain IT security standards and audit requirements

Escalation Handling & Collaboration :

• Bridge Level 1 service desk and technology service owners
• manage complex cross-platform tickets end-to-end Document solutions, create runbooks, and contribute to the knowledge base to reduce repeat escalations

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training
• or equivalent combination of education and experience Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions Experience with computing networks, platforms, and software architectures Knowledge and understanding of the definition and traceability of system requirements Experience in the implementation of system requirements verification methods Experience in the planning of system test activities Strong presentation and organizational skills Effective written and oral communication skills Mental ability to perform engineering problem solving and analytical tasks Able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints
