Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Systems Architect - WLC to define the future direction of connected network operations.

You will establish the target architecture and implementation roadmap for a next-generation Unified Connectivity Platform integrating Enterprise Wi‑Fi, NMS, ACS, Analytics, Service Assurance, and AI-driven operations. You will conduct discovery sessions, evaluate OpenWiFi opportunities, and guide architecture decisions across SaaS, multi-tenancy, observability, and analytics

Qualifications

• 12-18 years of software development experience.
• 12+ years in Software Architecture and Development within Enterprise Networking/WLAN.
• Expertise in AP software/firmware, AP–Controller communication, provisioning and OTA updates.
• Familiarity with OpenWiFi/uCentral, microservices and event-driven/SaaS architectures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Enterprise Wi-Fi and Controller discovery sessions with stakeholders to confirm requirements across WLAN, security, AAA/NAC, RF, client experience, and service assurance.
• Establish the AP–Controller–Cloud architecture hypothesis for WLC, AP software/firmware, RF intelligence, telemetry, and multi-site management.
• Evaluate OpenWiFi and current capabilities to determine Build vs. Reuse vs. Extend opportunities and identify platform differentiators.
• Guide architecture decisions and provide technical recommendations addressing SaaS, multi-tenancy, observability, analytics, integrations, risks, and dependencies.
• Assist in MVP prioritization, effort estimation, and phased roadmap development while contributing to architecture documentation and executive-level recommendations.
