Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to validate functional and non-functional requirements for Automotive Android-based Vehicle Cockpit software. The role focuses on early defect detection and improving overall software quality of the system.

Required: B.E. in EEE/ECE/Instrumentation and 3–5 years in test planning, execution and automation, ISTQB Foundation, experience with Android validation on hardware and simulators, Robot Framework, Python, Linux, and GIT.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in test plans creation, execution, automation & test reviews in validation.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or higher).
• Strong knowledge of test management and defect tools (JIRA, Silk Central, HP Quality Center, CodeBeamer).
• Hands-on validation of Android devices on HW benches/setups and in virtual environments (simulators).
• Experience with Robot Framework and Python.
• Proficiency with Linux environments (Ubuntu) and version control (GIT).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and automotive testing tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement test strategies for Functional, Non-Functional, Stress, Unit, and Regression testing across HIL/SIL setups.
• Define and maintain test plans, track requirements changes, and manage test campaigns for vehicle cockpit validation.
• Lead manual and automated test execution with Robot Framework; provide technical solutions to the team.
• Review and update testing standards, guidelines, and checklists; ensure timely issue closure.

Software Validation Engineer is responsible for Validating Functional & Non Functional requirements related to SW components for Automotive Android based Vehicle Cockpit as per specifications. SW Validation Engineer is a key contributor to enhance the SW quality of the system by early detection of issues.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.E. (EEE) / B.E. (ECE) / B.E (Instrumentation) Mandatory

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Requirements:
• 3 to 5 Years of experience in Test plans creation, Execution, Automation & Test Reviews in Validation
• Must be Certified on ISTQB Foundation Level (or more)
• Knowledge in test management and bug handling tools like JIRA/ Silk central/ HP Quality center/ Code beamer
• Shall have strong experience in 1 or several of the below areas:
  • Hands on experience in Software validation of Android Devices using HW Benches/Setups.
  • Hands on experience on validation of Android devices in virtual environment (Simulator)
  • Hands on experience in execution and maintenance of scripts using Robot Framework and python.
• Hands on experience on working in Linux environments (Ubuntu).
• Hands on experience in Version Control tools like GIT

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create and implement consistent test strategies for several testing approaches such as listed below.
   1. Functional Testing, Non-Functional Testing, Stress Testing, Unit Testing, integration Testing, Black Box Testing, White Box Testing, Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Sanity Testing.
2. Review and analyse the requirements, define test strategies to cover the features, develop and maintain tests plans for HIL and SIL tests benches to validate Vehicle Cockpit (Test Case design, Test case catalogue creation, Test Campaign definition). Track requirements changes or test cases changes.
3. Be responsible for Test Execution in Manual and Automated scripts in Robot Framework.
4. Provide technical solutions and technical leadership to the team. Ensure that the delivered solution meets the technical specifications and customer requirements / planning.
5. Review / update best practices / standards / guidelines / checklists periodically. Ensure the tests plans are up to the mark following new anomaly reports.
6. Conduct peer reviews (Local + Corporate) and ensure closure of issues.
7. Manage HIL/SIL validation campaign on time. Analyse tests failed and open anomaly reports. Make a synthesis of all tests. Validation Engineer will collect Bug evidencies, perform first level analysis, report Bugs to the development teams and will track those for resolution.
8. Support customer and development teams for technical questions regarding validation and anomaly reports.
9. Validation Engineer will participate to the collection and analysis of Quality metrics related to test operations.
10. Identify and define measures for defect prevention and mitigate technical risks
11. Represent SW team to other stakeholders and interface with system teams to optimize test plan coverage
