Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced HIL Testing Engineer in Bangalore to develop, execute, and maintain HIL test setups for automotive ECUs. You will ensure adherence to quality and functional safety, coordinating with development teams across verification activities.

The role requires hands-on expertise with HIL platforms (dSPACE, Vector, VT System) and test automation using Python, CAPL, and MATLAB/Simulink. Work from office (5 days a week) in a fast-paced automotive validation environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in HIL Testing within the automotive domain.
• Hands-on experience with HIL test benches and platforms (e.g., dSPACE, Vector).
• Experience with automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS).

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain HIL test cases for automotive ECUs and vehicle functions.
• Configure and operate HIL test benches using industry tools.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Analyze requirements and derive test cases for verification and validation.
• Perform integration, regression, functional, and system testing.

HIL Testing Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing Engineer with strong expertise in automotive validation, automation, and embedded systems testing. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in developing, executing, and maintaining HIL test setups for automotive ECUs, ensuring compliance with quality and functional safety requirements.

Location: Bangalore
Work Mode: Work From Office (5 Days a Week)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain HIL test cases for automotive ECUs and vehicle functions.
• Configure and operate HIL test benches using tools such as dSPACE, Vector VT System, NI PXI, or equivalent platforms.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar technologies.
• Analyze system requirements and derive test cases for verification and validation activities.
• Perform integration, regression, functional, and system‑level testing.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues identified during HIL testing and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Generate test reports, defect reports, and validation documentation.
• Participate in requirement reviews and test strategy planning.
• Support continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and validation processes.
• Ensure adherence to Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and quality standards.

Required Skills

• 5 to 8 years of experience in HIL Testing within the automotive domain.
• Strong hands‑on experience with dSPACE, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, VT System, or similar HIL platforms.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS Diagnostics protocols.
• Experience in test automation using CAPL, Python, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Understanding of ECU architecture, embedded systems, and automotive networks.
• Experience in test case development, execution, and defect management.
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, DOORS, Polarion, ETAS INCA is preferred.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.
