Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to design and execute end-to-end test strategies for cloud-native observability platforms. You will drive automation frameworks, validate microservices and APIs, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure release quality.

The role requires 5+ years in system testing and QA automation, with strong skills in Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, and data ingestion validation.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in system testing, QA automation, and quality engineering.
• Experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks for cloud-native, distributed software.
• Strong API testing, end-to-end validation, regression testing, and CI/CD-integrated automation.
• Expertise validating microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, and multi-component deployments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, containers, and Helm.
• Experience testing large-scale data ingestion, streaming and observability platforms (Kafka, telemetry).
• Knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, OpenTelemetry, PromQL, VictoriaMetrics for validation.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, performance/reliability testing, and Escaped Defect Analysis.
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Engineering degree


• 5+ years of experience


• Experience in System Testing, QA Automation, and Quality Engineering for cloud-native, distributed, or enterprise software products


• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks


• Experience with API testing, end-to-end system validation, regression testing, and CI/CD-integrated test automation


• Expertise validating microservices-based applications, distributed systems, REST APIs, and complex multi-component deployments


• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Containers, and Helm


• Experience testing large-scale data ingestion, streaming, and observability platforms involving Kafka, telemetry pipelines, and data-intensive systems


• Knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, OpenTelemetry (OTLP), PromQL/VMQL, VictoriaMetrics, and monitoring-driven validation


• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, test automation pipelines, performance testing, reliability testing, defect analysis, and Escaped Defect Analysis (EDA)


• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills


• Experience with AI-powered testing tools and intelligent test automation practices (nice to have)


• Experience with observability and AIOps-driven validation approaches (nice to have)


• Exposure to telecom network management, network analytics, or autonomous network solutions (nice to have)


• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (nice to have)
