Job summary

Opt IT in India is seeking an experienced L2 System Engineer to provide advanced technical support, manage IT infrastructure, and ensure system availability.

You will handle Windows/Linux, AD/M365, virtualization, backups, and cloud services, while coordinating with multiple teams. A solid ITIL/ITSM background and strong scripting skills are appreciated.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, AD, M365, and networking.
• Experience with VMware/Hyper-V, backups, patch management, and monitoring.
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM processes and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for servers, desktops, applications, and network connectivity
• Administer Windows and Linux systems, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
• Manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365, user access, group policies, and system permissions
• Monitor system performance, backups, antivirus, and infrastructure health
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and connectivity issues
• Perform incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution
• Support virtualization, cloud platforms, disaster recovery, and security controls
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and asset records
• Coordinate with L1, L3, network, security, application, and vendor teams
