Job summary

Attero, headquartered in Noida, India, seeks a Sustainability Manager to lead ESG strategy, carbon management, and environmental performance across operations.

You will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to embed sustainability into business strategy, manage certifications and reporting, and engage with national and international forums.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Sustainability, ESG, Climate Change, Environmental Management, or related fields.
• Postgraduate qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences/Management, Climate Change, Development Studies, Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in GHG accounting, carbon footprint assessment and ESG analysis.
• Experience with carbon credit projects and carbon markets preferred.
• Familiarity with GHG Protocol, BRSR, ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14064/14067 and related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead ESG and Sustainability strategy, targets, initiatives and performance metrics.
• Coordinate corporate carbon footprint and GHG emissions assessments (Scope 1/2, relevant Scope 3).
• Calculate carbon footprint, avoided emissions and environmental impact for e-waste, batteries, metals, and processes.
• Track carbon markets, credit methodologies, and climate regulations relevant to Attero.
• Drive decarbonisation, circular economy, resource efficiency and environmental impact reduction.
• Oversee ESG reporting, disclosures, data collection and assurance (BRSR, etc).
• Support ESG due diligence for investors, lenders, customers, partners; prepare questionnaires and data rooms.
• Ensure certifications, standards audits, and external assurance are managed.

Role Overview:

Lead Attero’s sustainability and ESG agenda acrossESG strategy, carbon management, environmental performance, sustainability certifications, carbon credits, ESG due diligence and emerging sustainability initiatives.Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to embed sustainability into business strategy and identify opportunities for innovation and business value.Represent Attero at national and international forums, conferences, policy dialogues and stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and drive Attero’sESG and Sustainability strategy, targets, initiatives and performance metrics.


• Leadcorporate carbon footprint and GHG emissions assessments, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.


• Undertakecarbon footprint, avoided emissions and environmental impact calculationsfor e-waste, lithium-ion battery recycling, recovered metals and other business processes.


• Track developments incarbon markets, carbon credit methodologies and climate-related regulationsand identify opportunities relevant to Attero.


• Drive initiatives related todecarbonisation, circular economy, resource efficiency, urban mining and environmental impact reduction.


• Lead/coordinateESG reporting, disclosures, data collection and assurance, including BRSR and other applicable frameworks.


• SupportESG due diligencefor investors, lenders, customers, strategic partners and other stakeholders, including preparation of ESG questionnaires, data rooms and assessments.


• Identify, evaluate and manage relevantenvironmental and sustainability certifications, standards and audits, including ISO, carbon footprint, LCA and responsible sourcing-related standards.


• Maintaincontinuous awareness and provide regular updates to management on ESG, sustainability, climate and environmental regulations, standards and best practices in India and globally.


• ConductESG gap assessments, benchmarking, research and analysisand translate findings into actionable recommendations.


• Identify and developinnovative sustainability initiatives, projects and business opportunitiesthat can create environmental and commercial value for Attero.


• Work closely with Operations, EHS, Finance, Procurement, Legal, HR, Business Development and Communications teams to implement sustainability initiatives.


• Preparemanagement presentations, briefing notes, technical reports, research papers, policy inputs and sustainability content.


• Represent Attero atindustry conferences, roundtables, policy forums, sustainability events and other external platforms, including as a speaker/panelist.


• Build and maintain relationships withindustry bodies, government institutions, consultants, certification agencies, research organisations, customers, investors and other sustainability stakeholders.


• Participate in and leadregular internal and external meetingson ESG and sustainability matters and ensure timely follow-up and closure of action points.


• Support the development of Attero’sthought leadership and external sustainability positioning across circular economy, recycling, critical materials, carbon management and climate action.

Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years of relevant experiencein Sustainability, ESG, Climate Change, Environmental Management, Carbon Accounting, Sustainability Consulting or related fields.


• Postgraduate qualification inSustainability, Environmental Sciences/Management, Climate Change, Development Studies, Engineering or related field from reputed college/International College degree is preferred.


• Strong hands‑on experience inGHG accounting, carbon footprint assessment and ESG analysis.


• Experience withcarbon credit projects/carbon marketswill be strongly preferred.


• Strong understanding ofGHG Protocol, BRSR, ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14064/14067and other relevant ESG and sustainability frameworks.


• Experience inESG reporting, due diligence, sustainability certifications, audits and external assurance.


• Exposure torecycling, waste management, batteries, metals, mining, manufacturing, energy or circular economysectors preferred.


• Strong understanding ofIndian and international ESG, environmental and sustainability regulations and standards, with the ability to continuously track and interpret developments.


• Excellent analytical, research and problem‑solving capabilities, with the ability to translate technical and regulatory developments intoclear business recommendations.


• Excellentwritten, verbal, presentation and public‑speaking skills.


• Strong stakeholder‑management and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to represent Attero at high‑level external forums.
